Preserving Insurance Agency Legacies

This past Friday, November 1, 2019, Element Risk Management acquired Brenner Insurance of Hollidaysburg, PA.  Agency acquisitions like this are always a cause for celebration, but this one felt a little extra special.

Brenner Insurance is the quintessential small-town agency, family owned and operated since its founding… in 1919.  And that’s what made us pause for a moment.  We realized that we were making a promise to protect and honor a 100-year-old legacy.

We talk about the word legacy a lot when we talk about agency acquisitions.  That’s because we know what it’s like to start an insurance agency from the ground up.  The work is hard.  The risks are tremendous.  The sleepless nights are long.  But then, when things finally take-off, the the thrill is unmatched.

We recognize that every agency we acquire was similarly built from the ground up and is a testament to someone else’s trials and triumph.  An insurance agency is a legacy.  And we treat each one we acquire as such.

In addition to the centenarian Brenner Insurance agency, Barnes & Phillips Insurance of Woodstock, VA and Crawford Insurance Company of Strasburg, VA have also become part of Element Risk Management.

With all three agencies, we have kept the staff in place, working in the same offices they have always been in.  We consider this a win for us, for them, and for clients.  Keeping the people and processes that made these agencies a success just makes good sense.

In addition to preserving the local, personalized service customers have come to expect, Element Risk will also be introducing new online tools and additional carrier options to improve customer experience in these newly acquired locations.

Local service.  Regional strength.  That is our goal in every Element Risk office.  We can think of no better way to preserve the legacies these families have built than to honor where they came from and thoughtfully prepare them for another 100 years of success under the new Element Risk banner.
